Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups fish or vegetable stock
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup white wine
1/2 pound cooked crab meat
1/2 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and white pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Directions:
Sauté: In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cooking until translucent.
Thicken: Stir in flour to form a roux, cooking for 2 minutes. Gradually add stock and wine, stirring constantly.
Simmer: Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Cream it up: Add heavy cream, paprika, and thyme, simmering for another 10 minutes.
Add seafood: Gently fold in the crab and shrimp, cooking until heated through.
Season: Add salt and white pepper to taste.
Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
