German Cucumber Salad

Authentic German Gurkensalat with Dill and Sour Cream


2 large cucumbers

1/2 cup sour cream

2 tablespoons white vinegar

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small red onion, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon sugar


Thinly slice the cucumbers using a mandoline or sharp knife.

In a large bowl, mix sour cream, white vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper, and sugar until well combined.

Add the sliced cucumbers, red onion, and dill to the bowl. Toss everything together until the cucumbers are well coated with the dressing.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving, allowing the flavors to meld together.
