Homemade Vanilla Cake
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Beat until just combined.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
