Here’s My Recipe

I Want To Say I Must Have Made This Over A Year Ago. One Recipe Or Thing That I Love To Make Is Donuts. No Matter What Type Or Shape. Many Of You Will Remember My Sunday Special Of Donuts I Used To Make When I Was In Chatsworth. Miss Those Days. Maybe I’ll Bring It Back In Merebank And Have A Delivery Option Let’s See If It’s Popular. So Decided To Make A Batch Of Classic Fresh Cream Long Donuts.

Here’s My Recipe

 Donuts

400g flour

200ml warm milk

7g yeast

40g castor sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg, plus 1 egg yolk

45 g butter

Oil.

Put flour into a bowl, make s well in the centre. Add warm milk, yeast arnd sugar to it. Mix it into the milk. Bring a bit of flour from the sides and mix until you have a paste. While still not mixing all the flour in. Cover and rest for 20 to 30 mins. Once done, add the egg and egg yolk, salt and butter to it and mix until you form a dough. Knead for 8 mins until smooth and elastic. Place in a bowl and cover as prove until double in volume for 30 to 40 mins. Once done, roll out and cut rings or divide into 12 pieces and roll each into a smooth ball or long roll. Place on a floured tray and prove for 20 to 30 mins until double in volume. Heat oil on medium and fry until both sides are lightly golden brown having a sign of a well made donut on it. Which is the white ring around it. Allow to cool. Dip in chocolate or fill with cream up to you.
